Steve and Brian travelled to the 62nd ASMS annual conference held this year in Baltimore, Maryland. With its famous aquarium and inner harbour area Baltimore city served as a nice backdrop for the conference. Steve presented Lisa’s poster entitled “Laser capture microdissection for advanced LC-MS discovery of specific cell populations within tissue samples “ on the Wednesday poster session, whilst Brian presented his posted entitled “Comparison of Nano-Flow and Standard Flow-Rate LC-QQQ Platforms Using Putative Prostate Cancer Protein Biomarkers” on the Thursday poster session day. Attending ASMS was a great opportunity to present both Brian’s and Lisa’s work in progress to start to show the work we are doing and also to try and learn ways we can improve on any aspects.
With over around 2800 posters presented and more than 380 oral presentations it is a daunting task to try and pick out which sessions to attend, however we stuck mainly clinical proteomics themed sessions such as protein quantitation (informatics session), phosphoproteomics in disease, clinical diagnostics.
